Meet the team - Michael Treasure, Contracts Manager

What is your job title?

Contracts Manager

What does your job involve?

I’m responsible for the operational and contractual performance of our metering service providers, who play a critical role in delivering for our customers. I’ll be managing Service Provider performance and also ensuring we have the right number of resources in the right place.

What’s your background?

I’ve worked in the energy industry for over 10 years, delivering customer projects and managing contracts across traditional and smart metering. My background covers most sides of the metering world, having worked with energy supply, asset management and MOP and MAM delivery.

Why Squire Energy?

My background is heavily customer-focused and I wanted to work for a business that puts that at the forefront of delivery. Squire have an excellent reputation in the industry and coupled with the acquisition from Stark, it’s allowed Squire to be competing with the largest metering providers in the industry but continue that close, customer-focused approach that is often lost with competitors.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

I love seeing opportunity develop into delivery, taking customers on a journey with Squire that benefits all parties and making the process as seamless as possible! I’m also excited by the wider group growth in net zero, EV charging and new technologies, seeing how we can tie those all in to support businesses achieve net zero!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I’ve got a real love for post-war design, furniture, product and architecture, so spend a lot of my time researching and finding originals from the era! The 1950s and 60s had a real design boom, especially across Western Europe and Scandinavia where some of the most iconic pieces of furniture and architecture were produced. There’s a history and longevity in design with furniture from that era that you don’t get from modern production. They’re still here 60-70 years later and still influencing the world now, you can see a lot of the current products from IKEA have been born out of the original mid-century designs!

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Analytical, creative and passionate.

We’re off to the pub – what’s your order?

Depends on the pub, but usually a hoppy citrus IPA!
