What’s your job title?

Project Manager

What does your job involve?

I am responsible for managing and overseeing works from quotation stage, through to project completion. As a Project Manager for the Quotations Team, I am the first point of contact for customers and aim to build and maintain relationships with key clients.

What’s your background?

My background wasn’t initially in the gas industry; I studied English Literature and Publishing at University of Gloucestershire. After achieving a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in 2010, I soon found myself on a different career path, falling into an enjoyable role at a local Utility Infrastructure Provider company. Working as a Gas Projects Coordinator at there I was able to develop my skills in managing and delivering domestic gas infrastructure projects, whilst also developing my understanding and knowledge of the regulatory side of the industry. After five years, I decided to move on to a more challenging role at Squire Energy, focusing on larger scale commercial sized projects.

What’s your favourite part of your job/what do you most look forward to?

I enjoy being part of such a very friendly and motivated team. My favourite part of my job is probably the variety of work available – I am often out and about at client meetings or carrying out site surveys. Meeting clients and building relationships is a rewarding part of the job.

Why Squire Energy?

I wanted to move to a company with a close-knit team that could offer a varied and challenging job-role whilst also help me develop my expertise in the gas industry. Squire has definitely proven to do this throughout my 3½ years working here. They have also given me the opportunity to become an IGEM member, allowing me to attend gas industry conferences and workshops.

Most memorable project?

Gunthorpe Street in East London was a memorable project due to the various challenges we faced. Whilst disconnection and diversion works were carried out, we had to ensure the listed building, Toynbee Hall, remained fully-functional and accessible – you can read the case-study here! Another memorable project is Salvatorian College in Harrow, where we carried out network reinforcement works to guarantee adequate capacity for the college.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy socialising with my friends and booking trips abroad when possible! I love travelling, especially to Antigua where some of my family live. I’m also a bit of a foodie and love cooking and trying out new restaurants.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Reliable, hardworking and organised

We’re off to the pub, what’s your order?

A large class of white New Zealand Sauvignon please!
