Location – River Plate House, 7 – 11 Finsbury Circus, London, EC2M
Client – Lend Lease Group
The River Plate house scheme, designed by Stirling prize-winning architect Wilkinson Eyre, is next to the grade II listed Edwin Lutyens designed Britannic House in Finsbury Circus.
The scheme envisages demolishing the existing eighties building on the site to construct a nine-storey 23,000m2 office building, including demolition of the existing facade.
Squire Energy were asked to disconnect the existing gas supply and metering equipment that fed the building in its existing state and to subsequently then install a new MDPE gas supply from the busy South Place road into the rear of the development and upto a bespoke primary gas meter module, operated and maintained by SEL under its MAM licence on behalf of the gas supplier.
A challenging project involving extensive traffic management and in-depth liaison with the City of London, and was completed on time, to budget and to the satisfaction of all concerned.
