Leatherhead Duck Race

Billed as one of Leatherhead’s most exciting events, this year’s annual Duck Race saw two of Squire Energy’s most feathery members go wing to wing with over 1,000 other competitors. Organised by Mole Valley District Council and taking place on the River Mole, on 2nd July, the eight races were sponsored by local businesses, with proceeds funding Leatherhead’s Christmas lights and yearly Halloween event.

This year, hundreds of residents flocked to bankside to watch the heats and although our sponsored plastic pair – Duck Whittington and Reggie – didn’t place, it was a fantastic day in the sun. As well as the opportunity to place small bets on their favourite webbed-feet competitors, families and little ones enjoyed the free face-painting and story-telling throughout the day.

John Clifton, Director at Squire Energy said, “We’re proud to sponsor local events and charities, and will continue to support the community spirit next year, and for many more years to come.”
